DISNEY'S LITTLE EINSTEINS™

What Is Disney's Little Einsteins?

Disney’s Little Einsteins is a new, interactive preschool franchise for three-to-six-year-olds that will encourage children to “share the music” and shout “We’ve got a mission!” Little Einsteins will change the way children view and learn from preschool television. Created by The Baby Einstein Company and the learning-inspired Playhouse Disney block on Disney Channel, Disney’s Little Einsteins takes preschoolers on fun, musical missions, introducing them to classical music, celebrated works of art and the wonders of nature. The revolutionary use of animation and music brings five learning elements to life in each episode—responding to music, listening to music, creating music, music collaboration and music and art appreciation—in ways that preschoolers enjoy and understand. Little Einsteins has a visual style that is like no other—it is the first to set 2D characters amid vibrant, real-world backgrounds, allowing preschoolers to travel “through” great works of art like Van Gogh’s “Wheat Field of Cypress,” and “into” actual landmarks like Niagara Falls. Anchored by a Disney Channel TV series in the Playhouse Disney block (debuting in October 2005) and DVD (on shelves Aug. 23, 2005), Disney”s Little Einsteins celebrates individual talents, lifelong curiosity, active listening and teamwork.

Who Are The Little Einsteins?

Each character brings a special talent to this group of spirited adventurers. Together, they provoke curiosity and actively seek participation from preschoolers who journey with them around the world.
  • Leo — This six-year-old “conductor” carries a baton wherever he goes and leads the Little Einsteins team on each of their exciting missions. His knowledge of music helps guide his teammates through a range of challenges and he draws on his kind, loving, inclusive personality to encourage viewer participation.

  • Annie — The youngest and most adventurous of the group is four-year-old Annie. She shines as a singer and loves to make up songs on the spot. Annie is Leo’s little sister - fearless and carefree.

  • Quincy — Five-year-old Quincy’s slapstick humor keeps the group in stitches. An African-American kid, he and best friend Leo complement each other, as Quincy is the resident musical instrument virtuoso.

  • June — In contrast to Quincy, six-year-old June loves pretty things and is an organized planner who is also a talented dancer and exercises high vocabulary. This graceful, Asian-American girl may appear as dainty as a flower, but the team turns to her whenever there’s a physical challenge.

  • Rocket — The fifth member of the team, Rocket is a “Swiss Army Ship,” equipped with cool gadgets and tools that help the team overcome any hurdles they may encounter on their missions.

Our Big HUGE Adventure DVD

Available August 23, 2005, “Our Big HUGE Adventure” DVD is the first title in the Little Einsteins franchise. For their first mission, the Little Einsteins team embarks on an exciting journey to help a little caterpillar on his quest to become a beautiful Monarch butterfly. The story is set to the dramatic music of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, features classic artwork including Van Gogh’s “Wheat Field of Cypress,” Monet’s “Woman in a Garden,” and Hokusai’s “Under the Wave of Kanagawa,” and spotlights real-world destinations including New York City, Oklahoma, and Texas.

The TV Series

Debuting in October 2005, Disney’s Little Einsteins is the “must see” show in Disney Channel’s Fall 2005 Playhouse Disney block. Each 24-minute, highly interactive mission exposes preschoolers to new musical adventures, encouraging them to learn about, talk about, enjoy and make music every day. The premiere episode sends the Little Einsteins team on a mission to Antarctica to reclaim Annie's birthday balloons and save them from a pointy iceberg.
