Latest Developments:
Ejido Mexican families all participate in the construction of Patsari stoves. Kids collect stones and clay and help to mix the mud for the stoves. Kids directly benefit -- for every 100 stoves used, as many as 600 children are protected from burns. Kids will also see a 40% reduction in respiratory illness.
Thanks to the children participating in Friends for Change, 100 stoves have been put in the homes of Ejido families in Central Mexico. Also, thanks to the climate pledge taken on by the Friends for Change participants, 10,0000 oyamel trees are growing in Central Mexico nurseries -- they will be planted in the Butterfly Reserve in June 2010 when the rainy season begins.
